Cocktail Chilcano de Pisco
Chilcano de Pisco
Chilcano has been the upcoming mixed pisco drink in Peru for the last 5 years, taking Peruvian pisco and mixing it with gingerale. It allows for a less acidic experience than pisco sour.
This is the recipe we make at our home, and it is one of Jim´s favorite drink, especially on those hot summer days.
Ingredients:
1.5 oz of Peruvian Pisco Acholado works best but any other will work too except the Mosto Verde, because it is to delicate.
1 Tablespoon of fresh lime juice, or the juice of half of lime.
Ginger Ale- experiment with different brands
Ice
Angostura bitters
Preparation:
In a tall glass pour the lime juice and Pisco, then filled up the glass with ice and gently add the ginger ale to the top, mix with a teaspoon top off with two drops of Angostura bitters. You could garnish it with a piece of lime.
More avant-garde version of the drink is the Chilcano picante; to prepare it, only add a large crushed slice of rocoto pepper to this recipe.
Salud!
