Our three years of blogging up to this 2019, and what is coming up on 2020
After three full years of continuing our blog about South America. We dedicate our passion to this continent, more so now that we are living in Ecuador. We have been back and forth between North America and South America for the past 20 years. We have called home to; Peru, The United States of America, Chile, and now home is Ecuador. Making our blogging even more exciting.
Our blog traffic has been increasing slowly and the main reason is because all our traffic is organic, we don’t pay for visits to our site. The same goes for our followers in social media. We base the blogging world on organic traffic, therefore; the increment is slow, but with that being said we doubled our traffic every year, and that is exciting. We are optimistic our traffic will continue growing at the same rate, with our goal of showing what South America offers to the world.
We have continued publishing posts weekly, and we plan on working the same way. We will publish a new post every Monday. Posts about the many countries in South America. Our passion for this continent continues, our focus is to write different articles aside from main stream tourist attractions, and travel blogs. We like to bring a unique take of our experiences to our blog.
This coming 2020 we will focus on Ecuador; we will feature a place to visit in this wonderful country. This could be museums, National Park, cities, old churches, beaches, etc. The options are many.
Last year, we launched our first South America to the World Book Club with these titles:
January- “The Alchemist” by Paulo Coelho
February- “Touching the Void” by Joe Simpson
March- “Open Veins of Latin America” by Eduardo Galeano
April- “Travels in a Thin Country” by Sara Wheeler
May- “Patagonian Road” by Kate McCahill
June- “Turn Right at Machu Picchu” by Mark Adams
July- “The Last Days of The Incas” by Kim MacQuarrie
August- “Life and Death in the Andes” by Kim MacQuarrie
September- “The White Rock” by Hugh Thomson
October- “Death in The Andes” by Mario Vargas Llosa
November- “Out of the Silence: After the Crash” by Eduardo Strauch and Mireya Soriano
December- “Long Road from Quito: Transforming Health Care in Rural Latin America,” by Tony Hiss
We would love to continue with our book club, but not monthly. Whenever we find a great book to make it part of our book club, we will announce it, and we’ll share the book review. We are hoping to have a book every three months. Our target so far is four books for this 2020.
We are starting the new year with “1491: New Revelations of The Americas Before Columbus” by Charles C. Mann. This book’s review will be posted on March.

We have a big project here in SouthAmericatotheWorld for this coming 2020. Our main goal is to translate some of our books into Spanish, and publish them. This will take a lot of work, but we are looking forward to have our books about South America in Spanish.
We will share a recipe every month as always. Yanira, is looking forward to learn all about Ecuadorian food. We published some recipes before. This time we are excited about cooking South American food, while in South America. The last time we lived in South America, was back in 2012. We lived in Santiago de Chile. And back then we haven’t started our blog yet. Hence the enthusiasm for this coming year to do so.
We are also considering making some updates on our Hot Springs of The Andes. We started this already, with our update on Termas Papallacta. There are so many more to do!
Yanira, will also continue with her blog in Spanish, in part to refresh her Spanish, and she wants to share “home-life” in a new country, and everything that this involves. To learn more visit TheYaniWay.
James, continues with his photography, he shows his passion, and dedication on every picture he takes. As shown on his many published photography books. He has been publishing photo galleries on his webpage JamesMWise.com and he will continue doing so.
We want to thank our readers from all over the world for visiting our site. It is always encouraging when we see the reports showing more visits, and therefore we will continue with our blog.
Best wishes to all of you, and Happy New Year 2020!
Jim and Yani
